Welcome to Alder Hill Farm!

Alder Hill Farm is located in the gorgeous Ozark Mountains in Walnut Grove, MO. AHF rescues foals, mares and geldings from PMU facilities, slaughter-houses, auctions and private owners. Alder Hill Farm evaluates, rehabilitates and trains all rescued animals prior to finding adoptive homes. This process includes veterinarian exams, if necessary; individual work (such as haltering, leading, grooming, riding, etc) with each animal to determine its individual attitude, needs and abilities; and use of natural horsemanship techniques to prepare the horse for its new home.

Volunteers and staff members with extensive experience conduct all evaluations and training. Alder Hill Farm has a full time natural horsemanship trainer (Scott Litherland) on their staff who oversees all training and handeling of the rescue horses. Funding for the evaluation, medications and training are dependent on donations, and volunteers.
